CSR for Global Goals

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also referred to as the Global Goals, were universally adopted in September 2015 by 193 member states of the United Nations. This collective agreement serves as a global call to action, aiming to eradicate poverty and safeguard the environment. Comprising 17 distinct goals and 169 associated targets, the SDGs outline a comprehensive agenda for positive global transformation.

India has committed to the 2030 agenda for sustainable development by signing the declaration, establishing ambitious targets that align with its national development agenda. Recognizing that achieving these goals solely through government initiatives is impractical, there is a critical need for extensive collaboration among the government, private sector, and civil society.

The alignment of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) with SDGs in India presents a distinctive opportunity for businesses. By integrating CSR efforts with the SDGs, businesses can actively contribute to sustainable development while fulfilling their social responsibility. This strategic alignment fosters a powerful synergy between public and private sectors, driving collective action towards the shared objectives of the SDGs and promoting holistic and impactful societal progress.
